Preventative Health Care 

Preventative health care is a great starting place for keeping your horse happy and healthy. 

We offer a wide range of services as well as supporting you with advice on preventative health care for your horse, ponies and Donkey's. 

 

Routine Vaccinations

We highly recommend that all horses and ponies are vaccinated for Influenza and Tetanus even if they never leave the premises. 

Dental Checks

Regular dental checks are a great way to catch any early signs of dental problems or diseases. We recommend that your horse as a dental check at least yearly.

General Health Checks

A general health check involves a vet checking your horses vitals such as eyes, heart, breathing, body condition scoring and checking any lumps or bumps. Picking up any problems early makes any detected issues easier to treat.

Cushings Disease Tests

We are able to test horses for Cushings disease via a blood sample. We recommend older horses are tested. The earlier Cushings is detected the earlier medication can start which will reduce any Cushings related symptoms. 

Worm Egg Counts

We recommend that worm egg counts are performed before worming commences. This is aimed to reduce resistance to the active ingredients in wormers. We provide in-house worm egg counts at our surgeries (excluding Holsworthy) at competitive prices.
